Thinking Beyond Generations: On the Future of Revolution Theory

A recent exchange between Allinson (2019) and Abrams on the current state of revolution theory rests assumption that generational, backward-looking view studies is also a fruitful way thinking field's present future. We argue, in contrast, while generational approach has important benefits, it contains shortcomings may lead future less directions. examine where an overreliance led us, provide exploratory sketch how we can begin to move beyond thinking, imagine new for study revolution.
